DETOUR Golf Cart Hire, with an address at Av. Tulum, Centro, Tulum, Quintana Roo, is responsible for the personal data you give us and for what we do with it. This notice explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
What we collect
- To quote and book: name, email and phone number.
- To hand over the cart: a photo of your ID or passport and of your driving licence, plus your date of birth and the hotel where you are staying.
- If you add other drivers: their name, date of birth and driving licence.
- Payment data is handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
Why we collect it
- To confirm your booking and send you its details.
- To verify, when we hand over the cart, that you are the person who booked it and that you may legally drive it.
- To issue the rental agreement and, if there is any damage, to document it.
- To meet the obligations that apply to a vehicle rental business.
How long we keep it
Your booking and its agreement are kept for as long as we are required to keep them. The photos taken to document the cart at handover and return are deleted two months after the rental ends. Your ID and licence stay in your file so you do not have to upload them again on your next rental; you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Who else sees it
Nobody buys it from us and nobody rents it from us. We only share what is strictly needed with our payment processor, and with an authority when the law requires it and asks for it properly.
Your ARCO rights
You may ask us at any time to:
- Access: know what data of yours we hold.
- Rectify: correct it if it is wrong or out of date.
- Cancel: have us delete it when it is no longer needed.
- Object: tell us to stop using it for a particular purpose.
Write to hola@detourtulum.com with your request and the booking it refers to. We will reply within the term the law sets. You can also withdraw a consent you gave us before, though there is data we cannot delete while an open rental or a legal obligation depends on it.
Changes to this notice
If we change it, the new version is published on this page. It is worth checking it again before each booking.
